Ibnu asks:
I've seen some registry cleaners that do too good of a job - they remove certain things needed by other programs (like those you're using to scan the registry). However, in your case, I'd ask: 1) Is a System Restore possible? You could use this to revert your registry back to the way it was before these crashes occurred. 2) When the scan crashes during the registry scan, are you able to see what registry key caused the crash? 3) Boot your PC into Safe Mode, and perform the scan that way. There may be issues with running the registry scan while Windows is running - other software may be interfering. Performing a scan in Safe Mode will rule that out. If you still have a crash, then the fault is probably due to registry corruption. You'll then need to either perform a system restore, or reinstall Windows. |
