Robert asks:
Can you tell me if there is a way for me to send the signal from the "B" speaker outputs of the receiver in my den to a set of indoor/outdoor speakers in my bathroom, wirelessly? There is no electrical outlet near where I want to place the speakers in the bathroom.
Sure, plenty of wireless, battery-operated speakers are available. Before purchasing, however, realize that these types of devices do have the following limitations:
Sound quality is lower than powered, non-wireless speakers: This is simply due to the fact that batteries and wireless capabilites can only handle so much data and provide limited power.. For the die-hard audiophiles, stick with wired solutions.
Buy a lot of batteries: You will need a lot of batteries, and if you use the speakers a lot, you'll be needing them often. You might want to consider rechargables.
Wireless interference: Many wireless speakers (including those listed here) operate on the 900 MHz frequency range. This is the same range used by some coreless phones, baby monitors and similar limited-range wireless devices. If you currently have a 900 MHz frequency device, you may need to have it turned off to enable the speakers to work properly.
On to the good stuff. Here are two wireless battery-powered speaker sets, depending on what style, price and performance level you want.
