Free Video Games

Want some free video games? While "your mileage may vary", "to each their own", "you get what you pay for", et cetera, you will hopefully find these recommended downloads are a cut above many other free games.

Note that while some of these games support networked multiplayer configurations, the goal here was to find "offline" games: Software that can be downloaded, installed and played locally on a single PC, with or without a network. This is not a list of MMORPGs or similar online games. Finally, these games are truly free. No try-before-you-buy, no forced registration, no cost: Download and they're yours to play.
