CD ejects without burning

Question:

Whenever I load a CD-RW disk into the burner, it rejects it as soon as I try to burn the data.

Answer:

When a CD-burner ejects a disc without burning anything, it’s often because there is a problem with the disc itself, or the disc is not compatible with your CD-burner. If you’re lucky, the CD burning software will tell you what the problem was. Since you’re writing in with this question, though, I assume this is not the case!

Did you try another (new and unused) disc? There might be something wrong with the first one. Or you may have already burned to that first disc, and it may already be finalized (meaning you can’t burn to it any more), or it’s not a CD-RW.

And have you burned CD-RWs before? Or is this the first time? I ask to verify that the CD-burner you have is capable of burning CD-RW discs. Older CD burners were able to burn the one-time-use CD-R disc, but not the multi-use CD-RW discs.

the cd player in my mazda mpv van which is factory, will not play cd’s. The radio works fine but the cd player ejects the disc without even playing. As soon as I put the cd in, it is ejected

    Hi Sonia,

Assuming you’ve tried this with multiple CDs, it sounds like your CD player is faulty. It’s probably due for a replacement. Take it in to the dealer - if it’s under warranty, you should be able to get a free replacement.
