Recommendations for good fantasy books for teens

Can you recommend good fantasy books for teens?

Answer:

Well. Interesting. This has nothing to do with the Digital Bits Technology Column, but still… I’m a big reader, so I’m happy to answer it!

These are my opinion, of course. But I don’t read much fantasy any more. And I’m way past my teens, which is why you aren’t seeing any Harry Potter books mentioned! 

Some are recent. Most date back to my teen years. Here’s a list of my favorite fantasy books:
