The “Toshiba Hotkey utility for Display Device” did not end the error window. I could not find some of the other drivers listed above. But, I did download the “Toshiba ACPI Common Modules for Windows XP” driver, installed it, and this one did the trick. Thanks, again, to the first person who wrote this all up.

Thank you also. However, for the next person, heads up that the Toshiba website has changed. You may find the following steps helpful.

1. Determine the exact type, model, and O/S of your computer
2. Remove old utility file as noted above
3. Click above “Toshiba’s laptop support” link to go to Toshiba Support
4. Click Download button
5. Chose your Category, Family, and Model, and click GO
6. Refine the search results by choosing Operating System, and “Display”.
7. Click Title link “Toshiba Hotkey Utility for Display Device”
8. Click Download Now
9. In popup, click Save File. This is an executable
10. Locate download and run .exe
11. Click setup and file will install.
12. Retart computer (which I’m about to do, so let’s hope it works

my Toshiba Satellite laptop for several

Thanks for the answer to this problem. I also had the same issue with my Toshiba laptop. I download the Toshiba Common Modules from Toshiba’s laptop support per your instruction … the problem is solved! Thanks to whoever posted the solution.
