I want to record my vinyls to my laptop can I connect the laptop to sub out to mic in on the laptop as I have been told it cause damage. please help

My stereo does not have aux out jacks only sub out for the woofer

Norm, you’d need to record more than the sub out for recording audio to your PC with Audacity. You’d need to record input from the higher-range speakers as well. You need to get a converter for those specific speakers, and combine that signal with the sub output, before this process will work.
