Question:

Once I found a command to use in the RUN dialog that automatically reloaded all the critical system files from my Windows XP CD on the internet after I had had a virus attack.

Now I want to reload the files in safe mode on a damaged system but cannot remember the command. I have searched the internet high and low and cannot find refrence to it anywhere.

Do you happen to know this command?

The command to reload critical system files is the “SFC”, or “System File Checker”. It can be used in your situation above, or in any situation where critical, built-in Microsoft system files have been removed or corrupted. Here’s Microsoft’s detail on the SFC command.
