They took forever to get here then they were obviously pirate copies copied from the tv and amatueris.Some did not even work and were copied from tv stations as you could see their icons in the bottom right of the screen.They came with packing slips from China and discribed as clothing and priced at 20.00.Complete fruads. The really bad thing is we lost all our records of the transactions because our pc was fried by a freak lightening storm.Do you think there is a coinnection between this web site and the others. About 3 months later, I received a call from my credit card company that the card I had used was involved in a fraudulent charge for a $1200 computer purchased in India. Thank goodness I have a good credit card company. They immediately cancelled the card and rescinded the charges. I have done a TON of internet shopping, but I find it hardly coincidental that my card was used fraudulently after dealing with DVD Avenue. It's been over a year since they said they were going to send me a postage-paid envelope for the return of the discs, so just for the heck of it, I started to watch them. The RCMP have seized thousands of counterfeit DVDs of popular American TV shows and arrested eight people suspected of masterminding a black-market scam to sell the videos.

Mountie investigators raided an undisclosed Montreal location Tuesday where they found thousands of illegal DVD copies of shows like The Six Million Dollar Man and Ally McBeal, as well as 200 DVD burners.

Eight people were arrested and face several fraud charges under the Canadian Criminal Code and Copyright Law.

The RCMP believe the DVDs were burned in Montreal and sold widely across North America through several internet sites.

The counterfeit DVDs were sold at market prices which led buyers to believe they were purchasing original copies.

Canada’s national police force warned consumers to be vigilant when buying DVDs online. Counterfeit versions are typically of poorer quality, the RCMP said at a press conference Wednesday.

People who believe they’ve bought counterfeit versions can contact the RCMP at 1-514-939-8307, or the Canadian Association of Film Distributors at 1-800-363-9166.

I had heard that it had been released and was excited to be getting the entire series. I've subsequently discovered that only the first season has been officially released. My credit card was used for all kinds of unauthorized purchases by these guys before I became aware of it and today, 3 months after I cancelled the card I am still getting notices that they are trying to make purchases in my name with the bad CC number. In looking into this I encountered info about a member of law enforcement trying to pursue this. Hopefully, if US law enforcement won't stop them then the Canadians will! I also got scammed by these guys trying to purchase Silver Spoons. I had heard that it had been released and was excited to be getting the entire series. I’ve subsequently discovered that only the first season has been officially released. My credit card was used for all kinds of unauthorized purchases by these guys before I became aware of it and today, 3 months after I cancelled the card I am still getting notices that they are trying to make purchases in my name with the bad CC number.

In looking into this I encountered info about a member of law enforcement trying to pursue this. (Thanks Andy for a forum to post it) Contact:

I’ve contacted my state Attorney General’s office and formally opened a complaint. They said they can’t help because this scam is located outside of my state. I’ve contacted local and national resources (including consumer protection groups like 20/20), and received no responses. I personally can’t use the FTC complaint link referenced at the top of this article because, while I have a lot of data on the scammers, I personally haven’t been scammed.

At this point I’m just recommending that anyone who’s been scammed deal with their credit card company to get a refund. Let the credit card company sort this out, since it seems no one else wants to.

They appear to operate out of Canada, but the merchandise is sent from China. My story is similar to many already posted above. The DVDs I received were pirated copies and did not play on any system. I went to my credit card company after having no success trying to communicate with 'Mike' from TVDVDStore. I had to return the product (to China - the Post Office was able to decode the address!) and my bank placed a charge back to the company and refunded my money. Only then did I receive an immediate e-mail from 'Mike' saying he had already refunded my money in full, and asking why I had involved my bank. The only reason for his communication was because he found he was unable to re-charge me as I had also cancelled my credit card! Got him! It appears from this long list of complaints that almost all of the online websites selling old TV DVDs are scams. Buyers beware!! Please add TVDVDStore.net to the list of scammers. They appear to operate out of Canada, but the merchandise is sent from China. My story is similar to many already posted above. The DVDs I received were pirated copies and did not play on any system. I went to my credit card company after having no success trying to communicate with ‘Mike’ from TVDVDStore. I had to return the product (to China – the Post Office was able to decode the address!) and my bank placed a charge back to the company and refunded my money. Only then did I receive an immediate e-mail from ‘Mike’ saying he had already refunded my money in full, and asking why I had involved my bank. The only reason for his communication was because he found he was unable to re-charge me as I had also cancelled my credit card! Got him! It appears from this long list of complaints that almost all of the online websites selling old TV DVDs are scams. Buyers beware!!
