Such as debris or lint inside blocking it. Are you in a quiet place with no background interference? Are you saying the words slow enough (or fast enough)? It is next to impossible to get it to recognize the numbers 2 or 6 it is not like it is even close either. when I say 2 an 8 usually pops up and for the 6 I get a 9 half the time.
