Replacement sound card for cassette to CD / MP3 conversion
Question:
Cassette tape to CD – i have a cassette player with headphone jack but what soundcard do i buy?
Answer:
You didn’t mention what kind of computer you have – a laptop or a desktop. However, if your PC doesn’t have a soundcard already, I can recommend a good soundcard for basic cassette tape conversion.
If you have a laptop, you almost definitely have a soundcard built-in. However, if you don’t, or if your soundcard is broken or otherwise not working, get something like the SoundBlaster Live! 24-Bit External USB sound card.
This external Sound Blaster card will work for your laptop or desktop – it’s plugs into any available USB port. It’s a good sound card for cassette to MP3 conversion, and will serve as a fully functional sound card in whatever PC you plug it in to.

According to the eMachines website for the T3958 your PC should indeed have a soundcard builtin. According to the specs listed, you should have two audio ports in the front of the PC, and three audio ports in back.
