VHS to DVD recording speed recommendation
Question:
At what speed should the dvd recorder be set to transfer vhs to dvd so the dvd will play on any dvd player?
Answer:
Depending on your DVD recorder, you may have a couple options for what speed you want to record at. Note that the speed of your recording and the speed of the VHS playback will both affect the quality of your final conversion from VHS to DVD.
Put simply: when making a DVD recording, have the DVD recorder to record at “SP”, which gives you approximately two hours of recording time per DVD. You also want to make sure the VHS player is playing back your VHS tape at normal speeds. If you try to do VHS high-speed dubbing, for example, this will degrade the quality of your final product.
