Storing language tapes on an MP3 player

Question:

I have a Creative Zen v plus 8gb player, It will accept audio direct. Will it be down loaded at audio format or will it be altered to mp3 format? I am told if I download direct then a greatr deal of space will be taken up, I need to load 24 language tapes at about 20 mins playing time each one. Will it be better to download onto a computer and then use Audacity to make the transfere. I am a newbe so some of the tech terms I saw re using Audacity are a bit over my head, So am a bit relutant to just tape it all directAnswer:

When talking about format (like MP3 versus “direct” recording), you’re better off recording to an MP3 format. This will save a lot of space on your player.

I’d say to record the tapes using whatever method is easiest for you (Audacity or direct recording into the Creative Zen), but make sure to hae your final result be in MP3 format. Load the resulting MP3s to your Creative Zen. The worst thing that will happen is that you’ll fill up the Zen. If that happens, just work with parts of your language tapes: Load tapes 1-12 on your Zen, then delete those and load tapes 13-24 when you’ve listened to the first set.

Finally, doing this will also allow you to store ALL the converted tapes on your PC, so you can listen to them as needed, or selectively load any particular tapes on to your Zen MP3 player.
