When I record a cassette, it sounds find while listening on phones during recording. When I paly it back on Windows Media Player, the sound levels go up and down. Can you help me please?

I have a Canon Video camera that works with the small mini dvd’s. When a dvd is complete, it has to be finalized to enable to play on PC or DVD player, yet it cannot be edited on the PC and if mini DVD is unfilalized, it will not play on PC. Is there a software available to edit these mini DVD’s?
