Question:

I have had audacity for a while now but just started using it.
The recording does great, my only problem I am having is in the editing there are sections of the recording I wish to delete but cannot seem to get it to delete or edit out.

Could you possibly instruct me on how this is done.

Answer:

To delete a section of audio in Audacity, you can simply select the sections with your mouse:

1. Click once on the beginning of the section you want to remove
2. Hold down the mouse button to drag your mouse over the section.
3. Let go of the mouse button when you’re at the end of the Audacity section you want to delete.
4. Push the Delete key to delete it.

You’ll end up with your new Audacity audio file, with the section you’ve selected completely removed from it.
